N’Djamena International Airport

This airport is the largest and the only international airport in the country. It is located just 1 km from the center of N’Djamena, the capital city of Chad.

There are facilities aimed to serve both civilian passengers and military flights. They are separated by a runway, which is 2800 meters long and 45 meters wide. The runway is covered with asphalt. The airport is located at 295 meters above sea level. Five airlines operate at this airport: Toumai Air Chad, Air France, Sudan Airways, Afrigiyah Airways and Ethiopian Airlines. Since 1986, the airport has been also exploited by French Air Force. It is mostly the French Army that provides security at the airport. Airport police guard the airport 24/7. On the second floor of the terminal, there are offices of France Airlines and a few other airlines. There are also a waiting room and restrooms. When you exit the airport, you will see a car park and taxi stand opposite the airport.
